Everyone is always asking me how I get my messy beach waves, so before I do a full video tutorial, I want to tell you about the tools and products I use.
I curl my hair pretty much every day. Although I don’t wash it every day, my naturally curly, dry, processed hair still needs to be protected from all the styling. I am a true believer in hair masks and oils, but I’ve recently discovered a new product by Kenra Professional that solves all of my hair problems. Kenra Platinum Snail CC Creme is a 10-in-1 corrective creme that instantly restores youth in hair using snail essence. Snail essence is often used in Korean skincare due to its powerful blend of anti-aging proteins, and this is the first time a hair product on the US market has incorporated this ingredient.
Before blowdrying, I apply Kenra Platinum Snail CC Creme evenly through damp hair along with a leave-in conditioner. The leave-in conditioner helps me brush through my damp hair before applying the CC creme. The product can also be applied to dry hair on no wash days.
Today was a no wash day for me, so before styling my hair, I applied a dime sized amount of product to my dry hair. What I love most about this product is that it helps hydrate my hair, protect strands from heat styling, tames my frizz and flyaways, and decreases the coarseness of my naturally curly texture. The best part is, that just like a CC Creme for your skin, this product will improve the look and feel of hair over time. Kenra Platinum
Snail CC Creme is also paraben and sulfate free, so it’s perfect for chemically treated hair!
Once I have distributed Kenra Platinum Snail CC Creme evenly throughout my hair, I use a two-inch curling iron (you can also use a 1.5-inch) to curl thick sections of hair. When wrapping each section around the barrel, I leave out the bottom inch of hair to create a beachy, undone look.
Once finished curling, I apply a texture spray to create a messy, voluminous look that will stay all day.
Thank you Kenra for partnering on this post. Shop Kenra Platinum Snail CC Creme & more of my favorite products below!

Thanks for the post Lauren! Does fhe snail cc creme ship to Canada? Or can it be purchased in Canada?
Google it…? Lazy lol
Hi Lauren,
What brand of shampoo, conditioner, leave in conditioner, curling iron, and texturing spray do you use? Also, I have thicker hair, do you recommend thinning hair so that it curls better?
Thank you, love your blog!
I use Oribe gentle shampoo and conditioner. I love it’s a 10 leave in. The Kenra texture spray is great as is Oribe’s. If you have thicker hair you will just need to turn up the heat on your iron. 🙂
It’s a 10 is amazing stuff!!!
Hi Lauren I am a HUGE fan of you and ben. You guys are the CUTEST ever. I hope everything works out for you guys.I just got done watching your show. I rly want a season 2 of you both. But stay positive girl. Don’t let anything stress you out or blindside you.your so amazing (:

Hey Lauren! I’ve been following you for a while now (from the good old bachelor days) and I LOVE your blog and this post! I live in LoHi (waving!!) and always have THE HARDEST time keeping my hair hydrated in this super dry climate–so your tips are amazing! I’m definitely going to try the snail creme and pray that it works! 😉 Also–I kind of really hate to do this but insert shameless self-promotion here–I work for a company called TYME. We make a high-end iron that curls, waves and straightens and I’d love to send you one to try! You can literally curl your entire head in minutes and the curls last for 2-3 days (which is insane!). Ain’t nobody got tyme (sorry, I had to do it! :)) to curl their hair everyday! Anyway I’ll leave my email below. Let me know if you’re interested! If not, no worries–I’ll still be your biggest fan! 🙂
Omg Lauren I love this blog it has great fashion and makeup/hair tips. A shout out would be awesome.I love that you are a blogger .I want to be one one day.😘😘

Lauren,
With all of the pressure you and Ben have been receiving from the public, I felt called to express my gratitude to you and to Ben to opening your relationship up to us.
Each Tuesday, I find I am inspired by the spirit of grace and compassion you two seem to strive to offer one another in your most vulnerable moments. Each Tuesday, through one hour of your show, I am called to have a more generous heart for my partner, and engage in some of the kindest and most rewarding text exchanges while I witness yours and Ben’s story.
I hope you know that we, the public, are praying for your continued growth as a couple; may you continue to serve one another in arriving at a place of joy and fulfillment only possible in one another’s presence.
.
Do you curl your hair all away from your face or in alternating directions? Thank you and loving the blog so far 💛!
I love doing my hair like this too! I’m so glad you started a blog! My roommates and I love the show!
I just started a blog and I love looking at yours for inspiration! <3
HI Lauren,
I am from Canada, and I was wondering if you had any idea where I might be able to purchase the snail cc creme, or if the creme could be shipped to Canada?

I have the same problem!! Will the cream help?! Xo
Hi Lauren! I’m a big fan of yours 🙂 Thanks for sharing your tips and tricks! I couldn’t help but notice your gorgeous robe! Could you please let me know where it’s from?
Thanks so much!
I apeacpirte you taking to time to contribute That’s very helpful.
When you get your hair colored and cut, what do you ask for? I really like the color of your hair!!
Much love,
Kelly
When you put it in dry hair how much do you put in your hair. How much do I put in wet or damp.
Where is your white robe from?! I love it!
what type of curling iron do you use?
Thanks Lauren, loved this post/tutorial! I was wondering what lip products you use? In your blog posts or on your show you often have perfectly colored matte lips! I am not a fan of super shiny/glossy lip glosses and lipsticks. Is there a tinted chapstick or matte lipstick etc that you use and could share with us? Thanks! <3
How do you do the VERY front layer (the one that frames your face)? It looks like a sorta undone wave/curl. I love how carefree it looks.
Love Kenra products! Aside from their effectiveness they smell sooo good!
On another note.. do you have any tips for products that help with growing out your hair?
I’ve been wanting to try Oribe products! Thanks for sharing!
Love!! Thanks for the tutorial 🙂 I always try to get the beach wave look so I’ll have try out the product you use!!
Yes please teach me how to get eyebrows like yours! They are gorgeous
Lauren,

Will you ever do video tutorials? The posts you do are very detailed and helpful, but sometimes a girl has so see what the heck she is doing wrong. Visuals are so helpful.
Love your blog 🙂
Do you do all your curls in the same direction on each side?
I do. You guy do some the opposite way to add even more volume and texture. 🙂
Lauren,
When you wrap the hair around the barrel, do you clamp it too? I can’t tell from the picture. We have a very similar hair cut and length and I think this will work great for me! Thank for showing how you do it!
Yes I do! I don’t set it at the highest heat though!
Snails??? I can’t imagine to get their slime that it’s cruelty free. 🙁
Hey Lauren! I love your hair and this tutorial! How do you keep your bangs from falling in your face? Do you curl them away from you?
Lauren, do you think you could maybe do a video tutorial on this? like the one you did on your brows, that would really help!!! I have a really hard time with the curly iron and always end up messing it up! thank you so much!!!
Lauren,
Do you actually use the curling iron your holding in the photos or the one you have listed in your links? They are different and I’d love to know the one you use, as you said you use it almost daily.
XoXo
Hi Lauren
I have been searching for good ways or techniques to apply texture spray. Any chance you could describe how and where you spray it?
🙂 Thanks so much.
Warmly,
Erin
Hi Lauren!
How curly is your natural curl? I have natural curly hair also, so just curious! 🙂 Do you have to blow dry and straighten before you curl?
Do you use any type of dry shampoo on the days you don’t wash it? I’ve tried a few different brands & I can’t find one that is effective.
I tried the oil facial cleanser & the water serum from your previous post!! They’re amazing.
I like Oribes but my fave will always be Batiste! You can grab at your local drug store!
Hey! I would love to send you some product to try and do a review I also would be willing to pay. Please email me. thank you.
Pretty sure I need to copy your routine! I love that beach wave look and am always looking for good suggestions for hair products.

Love your blog! Also, love your show!
Hi Lauren!

Or if anyone else scrolling through comments has any suggestions where I can find a robe as amazing as this?!
Thank you!
What hair cut do you have?
PSA: The snail cream is buy one get one 50% off on ulta for black friday!!
Your hair is always on point! I can’t for the life of me get my hair to stay in place for as long as yours seems to hold. What hairspray do you use and are you using it when you have finished your look or do you use it during the style to complete your look? Do you end up doing any teasing to your hair to add volume?
Your eyebrows are amazing….what product do you use? I think you and Ben are beautiful together….😃 and I love your blog.
Going to cut my hair like yours. Then try this cream 😊 love ur website and good luck in your love life. Keep your head up.your strong!
Just curious… how do you make money from blogging?
Oooh, I must try!
Thanks,
Hey Lauren,
Wondering when you are going to upload a video of your hair tutorial. I keep checking every day, here and YouTube. Hoping you can explain how exactly to do the right side if you are a right hander too.
XOXO
When are you going to do the full tutorial? And will you do the blow drying part too?
Thank you!
Could you d a video tutorial please!!
Lauren,
Do you add any extra color like highlights to your hair? I am a natural blonde but I hate how dark it is and has no idea what to do.
Yes! But I try to keep it natural. I like some of my roots showing. I mostly have her highlight around my face 🙂
