Last month I spent a few nights in one of my favorite places, Palm Desert, CA. Growing up, my family had a place there and every summer we would pack all six of us in the car and drive from Oregon to the desert for a month of fun! Although it was quite toasty that time of year, I have so many great memories in Palm Desert and it’s always a treat to go back. This time around I stayed at the La Quinta Resort and Club, a Waldorf Astoria hotel. Tucked into the pictureesque desert mountains in the city of La Quinta, this resort embodies everything that I love about the city of La Quinta. Originally built in 1926, the grounds are pristine as are the original Spanish style buildings nestled throughout the resort.
The rooms are spacious yet cozy. Every few casitas have their own pool with plenty of chairs to lounge in and soak up the desert sun. There is bougainvillea blooming everywhere, palm trees providing some shade, and the entire resort just smells like heaven. Our room even had its own fireplace to snuggle up next to at night.
After a day spent poolside (which by the way the hotel boasts 41 pools) in one of the adorable cabanas we ate at Morgan’s in the Desert. The food was fabulous but even more impressive was the service. The hotel staff and servers were so welcoming and accommodating. For dinner we ordered a bottle of wine and enough food to feed a family of ten because everything on the menu sounded too good to resist. I would highly recommend Morgan’s for its fresh, contemporary American cuisine.
The next day, before my photoshoot with Vandevort, my skin needed a little TLC, so I got a wonderful facial at the Spa La Quinta. After a day in the sun and all the travel I had been doing my skin was feeling a little dull. After my Signature Facial, I left the spa with glowing, hydrated skin. The excellent service at the resort continued during my experience at the spa. I felt relaxed and pampered the minute I walked into the spa.
The La Quinta Resort also has a state of the art fitness center, tennis courts, and five golf courses. This wonderful gem in the dessert offers everything for a family vacation or a relaxing weekend with the girls any time of the year.
Looks like such a fun weekend! I need to go there for some R&R!

Hey Lauren 🙂 Checked out your blog today & loved it. Even though I don’t know you I wanted to send you some love, support, and POSITIVE VIBEZ!!!! I see so many horrid comments from people on your insta, & I wanted to spread some love. When people are jerks and say nasty things all you can do is pray for them.. as it has little to do with you. Keep doing what you’re doing. Spreading love and being kind is the way to go!!! People are better remembered that way! xo!
Looks so fun & that suit is perfection!!
