Happy Monday! I want to share with you a really easy recipe that can be made for a healthy + quick breakfast before you head out the door — literally the best homemade granola ever. I got this recipe from my mom, and it contains no refined sugar like you would find in the typical boxes at the supermarket (plus this is far less expensive!) A batch of this will last you several weeks. Just keep the granola in an air tight container. See below for the full recipe and hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
Momma Kris’ Granola
- 8 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
- 2/3 cup canola oil
- 1/3 cup butter
- ½ cup honey
- 1 cup agave nectar
- 1 tbsp. salt
- 1 tbsp. vanilla
- ½ cup toasted slivered almonds
- ½ cup toasted pumkin seeds
- ¼ cup flax seeds
- 1 cup Dried Cranberries
- Preheat oven to 350 Degrees.
- Put oats in large mixing bowl.
- Melt butter in microwave then add oil, honey, agave nectar, salt and vanilla. Stir together and then pour mixture on to oats and mix thoroughly.
- Pour granola onto two large rimmed baking sheets and spread in an even layer. Bake for approximately 30 minutes, stirring several times while baking.
- Add almonds, pumpkins seeds, flax seeds and dried cranberries.
- Let cool completely and enjoy!
P.S. You can buy oats and nuts in bulk at many supermarkets to save even more money! 🙂

As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, I always alter my skincare/makeup when I travel to different places. When I attended Tortuga Music Festival in Fort Lauderdale this is what I packed. Click […]

There are so many ways to go about dressing up for festivals and […]
Ever since I can remember, my mom would pack a small inspirational note in my lunches for school. I think I secretly looked forward to lunch time and reading the note. I remember taking it out of my lunch and holding it under the table being careful that my friends didn’t see, scared I would […]

I wanted to share some photos from my recent trip with Maaji swim to Colombia. This was my first time to South America and I really didn’t know what to expect. We visited Cartagena- a picturesque city located on the northern coast of Colombia. Nestled on the Caribbean Coast, this beach town is truly a […]
[Skin after two Laser Genesis treatments with Angel] Upon visiting Angel, one of the top aestheticians in Denver & contributor on Denver’s morning show, my skin was dry, dull, and felt lifeless. I just recently switched medication causing me to break out on my chin area. Between the small, lurking purple marks from past breakouts […]
I wanted to let you guys in on my skincare routine for dry skin. I struggle with dull, dry skin here in Denver. My skin is naturally on the dryer side but here in Colorado it is seriously parched. Depending on where you live and what season of the year it is, our skin goes through […]
